"When I set out to cover this album, I didn't have any goal or agenda attached to it. I certainly wasn't trying to enhance it; to me, the album is a case study of pristine pop music production. I wasn't trying to cover it in a radically different way either. Much of my musical influence derives from this album (and this band), so I knew I wouldn't have to stray far in order to make it unique to my style of music. I suppose the ultimate purpose of covering this album was to honor Roland, Curt, Ian, and Chris for producing one of the greatest albums of all time. There are some albums from the same era that sound quintessentially '80s. To me, SFTBC is a sound all it's own, and I am truly honored that my take on it has been received so warmly by listeners and by Tears for Fears themselves." - John
